FAQ
Who am I?
I am a professionally qualified and registered psychotherapist offering in-person, online and telephone counselling.
I decided to become a counsellor after my own positive experience of the last impact of long-term therapy on how I saw and felt about my life.
I first moved to London as an international student and have experienced life as an immigrant in a diaspora, navigating the challenges of integrating and adapting to a new life while retaining bonds from life back home. Also, with over 15 years of experience in financial services and technology, I understand the demands and stresses of the corporate world, and the emotional impact they can have when feeling anonymous in a busy city.
Who do I work with?
I am committed to working sensitively and respectfully with clients from all walks of life and all forms of sexual and gender identity, ethnicity, age, culture or disability.
I have particular experience working with issues including:
Work stress and burnout in corporate life
Immigrant experience and inter-cultural challenges
Low self-esteem and motivational challenges, including sports-related challenges
Online activities and internet use, including social media and gaming
Relationships and family issues, including working with the LGBTQIA+ community
Depression and low mood
Anxiety and stress, including panic attacks and social anxiety
What are my training and qualifications?
Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB), London
Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Integrative), Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB), London
MSc Psychology, University of Derby
MBACP - I am a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) which is the largest professional body representing counselling and psychotherapy in the UK. I abide by their Code of Ethics and hold a full DBS clearance.
Will our sessions be confidential?
Confidentiality is a key aspect of the therapy relationship, and everything discussed in the therapy sessions is kept in confidence.
I am a registered member of the BACP and abide by their ethical framework to ensure that our work is both ethical and confidential. There are a number of instances where I would have to break confidentiality such as if I felt you might be at risk of harm to yourself or others, or if I am compelled to by a court of law. However, I will always do my utmost to speak to you before any potential need to break confidentiality.
